SurfaDur R ThermoDry is a high-performance, two-component, polyaspartic flexible waterproofing and energy efficient coating system, high-built and UV resistant. It is based on ThermoDry Technology which combines reduced thermal conductivity with heat reflectance properties for liquid membrane applications. It prevents overheating and energy losses by the innovative action of its ingredients, significantly reducing the problems caused to the building by thermal changes. Its thermal insulating and waterproofing properties ensure the protection of surfaces from cracks and thermal changes. The ThermoDry technology consists of nano- and micro-engineered ceramic, low-density spheres dressed in highly reflective titanium and aluminium oxide particles. While they induce no interference to the durability and mechanical properties of the Liquid Applied Membrane (LAM) coating, they successfully reflect and block heat transfer (low thermal conductivity). Emissivity value is engineered to exceed 90% to prevent the accumulation of heat energy in the form of temperature increase. Therefore, cool properties are expressed both in terms of substrate temperature and heat reflectance. While dry film thickness does not significantly add up to the total thermal transmittance (U-value), ThermoDry technology acts as a combined heat mirror and blocker, elevating the energy profile of a building or structure.
