We are launching the new product SurfaSil Kirei, certified for its photocatalyitc properties, according to ISO 22197-1:2016 by the Greek Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology “Demokritos”.
SurfaSil Kirei is a highly breathable mineral photocatalytic coating with matte finish. It is an environmentally friendly coating that uses photocatalytic pigments to reduce noxious gases and odours. Additional main characteristics are water repellency, high vapour permeability, durability, and antimicrobial properties against algae, fungal, spores and surface contaminants. It provides exterior protection for buildings, whilst helping to degrade nitrogen oxide pollutants from the atmosphere. When used indoors, it improves air quality by eliminating odors and other organic pollutants.
Photocatalysis in action:
– Each part of the surface has been prepared respectively prior application of the final paint.
– On the first section of the surface, a primer was used to prepare the surface with a final application of a conventional acrylic paint.
– On the second section of the surface, the product SurfaSil Primer was used as a primer, preparing the surface for the final application of SurfaSil Kirei.
– On the first section where a conventional acrylic paint was applied, after 30 days the traces of the marker remain still indelible.
– On the second section where the photocatalytic & self cleaning innovative coating SurfaSil Kirei had been applied, the traces of the marker disappeared after 30 days of sunlight exposure.
